Operation Red Nose drivers rack up kilometres

The holiday season is in full swing with more than 220 people making it home safely last weekend thanks to Operation Red Nose.
Close to 50 volunteers from Newcastle Nissan, Young Professionals of Nanaimo, Columbia Fuels and PacificSport Vancouver Island’s dedicated regulars racked up 2,586 kilometres Friday and Saturday.
More volunteers are needed for the remaining five nights of Operation Red Nose, especially Saturday (Dec. 22) and Dec. 31. Residents from Lantzville to Ladysmith are encouraged to sign up as volunteers as soon as possible.
Operation Red Nose service is by donation and it is confidential. Remaining dates of service include Dec. 21-22, Dec. 28-29 and New Year’s Eve.
