PetSmart helps out animals
PetSmart hopes Canadian animal lovers open up their hearts, their wallets and their homes this weekend (Nov. 2-4).
The PetSmart Charities of Canada’s adoption takes place 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday in Nanaimo at 6950 Island Highway North near HomeSense.
Each year, more than 140,000 companion pets are admitted into animal welfare organizations in Canada. PetSmart Charities of Canada’s programs, including National Adoption Weekend, are made possible through donations.
A gift of $25 saves the life of a healthy, adoptable pet and funds programs focused on giving these pets a second chance. Donations can be made online at www.PetSmartCharities.org/adoption, by e-mail at gifts@petsmartcharities.org or 1-877-473-8762.
As an added incentive, participating local welfare organizations and rescue agencies will receive $35 in adoption-reward grants from PetSmart Charities of Canada for every pet adopted during the event.
