Teacher brings educators from around the world together

Aspengroveweb.jpg

Phil Macoun has a passion for helping students and educators from near and far understand how they can use technology.

Macoun, a math and technology teacher at Lantzville’s Aspengrove School, recently co-designed and led an online LearnNowBC Moodle Meet for educators on the topic of authentic global collaboration.

The course welcomed 79 educators from around the world to share their philosophies, thoughts and feedback with regard to collaborative projects they are planning or currently working on with students in their classrooms.

Macoun said his intention for the course and long-term vision as an educator is to share with other educators how to leverage technology in order to authentically connect and collaborate with other students and schools.

His long term vision for Aspengrove School is “to have every class connected with another from around the world, working on projects together”.
