APPLAUSE: Christmas tree mulch a community endeavour

To the Editor,

On behalf of the Nanaimo Lions and Lioness clubs, I would like to express appreciation to all those who assisted in our 49th annual Christmas tree disposal project.

Davey Tree Services helped with the tree mulching and DBL Disposal, Regional District of Nanaimo and International Composting made sure the mulch was disposed of properly.

Truck donations came courtesy of Budget Truck Rentals, Nanaimo Chrysler, Harris Mitsubishi and  Laird Wheaton Chevrolet GM.

Other sponsors playing a big part were Nanaimo North Town Centre and the City of Nanaimo.

Finally, we extend our thanks to those who assisted us through donations of time and money. The $4,000 raised will be used for Lions Club charities throughout the community.
