APPLAUSE: Grocer comes through for legion auxiliary

To the Editor,

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 257 ladies auxiliary in Lantzville extends its deepest thanks to Quality Foods in Northridge Village and manager Randy Romano for donating all the food for the Remembrance Day dinner on Nov. 11.

We served all the veterans, active service men and women and the RCMP free of charge and only had to charge $5 per serving for 152 additional roast beef dinners to the public.

The ladies auxiliary raised $760 will be divided among some of the needy families in our area over Christmas.

All the money raised by the auxiliary is always donated back into the community so Quality Foods should give itself a heartfelt pat on the back for helping us help others.

As another way of showing our appreciation, we have purchased a QF $50 gift card to be used as a draw prize during out annual veterans’ Christmas dinner Sunday (Dec. 4).
