Workshop aims to reduce anger
Anger management for women will be the focus of a two-weekend workshop hosted by Shore Counselling Society.
Soothing the Storm takes place Saturday and Sunday (June 18-19) and June 25-26, and features psychologist and registered clinical counsellor Jena Finetti.
“We teach women that the feeling of anger is healthy,” said Finetti. “It’s the way that we use anger that becomes problematic.”
The workshops teach women how to transform feelings of helplessness in controlling their emotions and situations to feeling empowered and in control of their feelings and behaviours.”
Women will be able to explore their feelings, listen to the messages their emotions bring and learn ways to take care of themselves, said Finetti.
Other topics include establishing boundaries, tools to control anger, resentment and forgiveness and relaxation techniques.

Meanwhile, the society will continue to subsidize those who need therapy, regardless of their income or ability to pay, thanks to a $30,000 B.C. Gaming grant.
Shore’s services include therapy for fears, abuse, anxiety, depression, behaviour problems, relationship difficulties, separation and divorce and family mediation.
