Nanaimo’s Woodgrove Centre is among the next 21 sites for a pop-up Zellers slated to open in the coming weeks.
The pop-ups span five provinces with five locations slated for B.C., all set to open by Aug. 11, according to a press release.
“Pop-ups are a key ingredient in our expansion strategy, allowing us to explore and test in new markets, gather valuable customer insights, and fine-tune our offering before establishing larger format store locations,” said Sophia Hwang-Judiesch, company president, in the release. “Our customers are very much part of our growth process, and together we will shape the future of Zellers, building a shopping experience that truly connects with communities across Canada.”
Shop sizes will vary from store to store, the company noted.

The company announced the return of Zellers through pop-ups last summer. The sites aim to deliver a bite-sized taste of Zellers and an opportunity for shoppers to demonstrate where they would like to see the next store open.
Pop-ups in B.C. are also planned for Hudson’s Bay stores in the Bay Centre in Victoria, Willowbrook Mall in Langley, Cherry Lane Shopping Centre in Pentiction, and Parkwood Place in Prince George.
