Job workshop covers construction industry
Nanaimo youth looking to try their hand at a career in the construction industry or other trades can attend a free workshop Tuesday (Aug. 16).
There is a growing shortfall of skilled tradespeople in Canada, despite the recent downturn in the economy. The workshop at Nanaimo Youth Services Association’s Youth Employment Centre, open to all unemployed and out-of-school youth ages 15-30, will give participants information about training, a general introduction to the industry and a chance to meet trades professionals.
For more information, please call the employment centre at 250-754-8101 or visit 290 Bastion St.
