Melissa Fryer started her career 10 years ago as a general assignment reporter before taking over the arts and entertainment beat in 2006. In August 2012, she took over as editor of the News Bulletin.
Karl  Yu Reporter
Karl Yu
Karl is the education, court and Regional District of Nanaimo reporter for the Nanaimo News Bulletin. He started as an intern at a commuter daily in Vancouver and then worked as a reporter, then editor, at a newspaper in the Kootenays, taking a CCNA award in 2012. He migrated to the Island in August 2013.

Nicholas Pescod joined the team at the Nanaimo News Bulletin in December 2013. He covers the Lantzville area and other issues in the Nanaimo region.

Darrell Summerfelt
Darrell Summerfelt has been doing newspaper and ad layout since he was 18 in his home town of Sechelt. After moving to the Island with his family, he found work at the Nanaimo News Bulletin in 1993. Twenty years later, he became production supervisor. He is proud to be part of a team of such talented individuals.

Tamara Cunningham joined the Nanaimo News Bulletin in July 2013 as the city and health beat reporter. She grew up in Nanaimo and wrote for the Mind's Eye youth newspaper before going on to become an award-winning reporter at daily and weekly newspapers across B.C. and Alberta.

Chris Bush has been a photographer/reporter with the Nanaimo News Bulletin since 1998. He is the lead photographer for the paper. Regular beats include police and fire.
